For years, the clinical data captured in healthcare settings has largely remained locked in the EHR system, beyond its use for billing purposes.

Stakeholders across the healthcare ecosystem have long aspired to securely leverage this information for clinical purposes too. Namely – to learn from the data available to personalize care plans for patients, optimize care protocols, conduct population health studies, and more. Technical difficulties, limited provider bandwidth, time and resource limitations, and other factors have precluded the promise of evidence-based practice from becoming a reality at scale.

A better group could not have formed to help close the evidence gap in medicine.
