Paige Twenter of Becker’s Hospital Review covered a new study in Diabetes, Obesity, and Metabolism led by Dr. David Klonoff, a member of the Atropos Health Clinical Advisory Board.
The study included an analysis of 130 million patient records. Researchers evaluated peri- and post-operative gastrointestinal, respiratory, hypoglycemic and survival outcomes among hospitalized adult patients with diabetes.
Atropos Health provided access to real-world data (RWD), Real World Fitness Scores™ (RWFS) for the datasets based on the question, and a final report (Prognostogram).
The conclusion from the study: Using GLP-1s the week of surgery did not increase the risk for any of the six possible side effects.
